Admissions Procedure
We aim to make our admissions process as smooth as possible for our prospective families. Our experienced Admissions Team are always happy to answer your questions, explain our entrance procedures or arrange a visit.
Children may join Mowden Hall School at any age from the term they turn three years old. They may join in the Autumn, Spring or Summer term and we are used to welcoming new children into all year groups at different times of year.
Individual Visit
We would be delighted to welcome you to the School for a visit and to hear more about your child. We will arrange for you to have a tour of the School and to meet the Head, Mrs Martin when possible. In the meantime we are offering Virtual Tours and meetings.
Registration
Following a visit to the School, registration is the first formal stage of the admissions procedure and early registration is advised. Registration Forms are available from the Office, admissions@mowdenhallpst.org
Taster Days
During the year preceding entry, pupils registered to join the Pre-Prep and Prep School are invited to the School for a Taster Day (and overnight stay if appropriate). This not only provides an opportunity for each child to familiarise themselves with Mowden Hall School life, but also gives us the opportunity to spend time with every child to ensure we are a suitable provision, before an offer of a place is made.
Place Offer
If your child is offered a place, an Acceptance Form must be completed and returned to indicate acceptance of the place, which is then guaranteed. A copy of the most recent school report is requested on offer of a place. At this point a deposit of £1000 is required, which is credited against your child’s final term’s fees.
If it is not possible for a child to attend a Taster Day – if living overseas for example – then we will request an English report and a online interview with the Head and team.
Summer Term Preparation Day
Children registered to enter the Prep School in the Autumn Term are invited to a Preparation Day towards the end of the Summer Term. This will provide your child with an opportunity to further familiarise themselves with the School and to start building new friendships in preparation for September.
New parents will have the opportunity to meet each other as well as the staff. There are also representatives from Stevensons, our school uniform suppliers, who will run a shop for the duration of the day. An option to look at the second-hand uniform will also be available.
